2.09.340 Department of Revenue Recovery.

     A.      There is established the Department of Revenue Recovery. Such department shall have and exercise the following duties and responsibilities:

     1.      Study and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and the County Executive on collection of accounts and other matters assigned to the department;

     2.      Advise and assist the officials of County agencies, departments, courts and other governmental units with respect to accounts collection activities;

     3.      Prepare an annual budget, in accordance with established procedures, for the support, maintenance, and operation of the Department;

     4.      Represent the County in dealing with other agencies, organizations, groups, and individuals with respect to County account collection activities; and

     5.      Perform such other duties and activities as may be required or authorized by the County Executive, the Chief Operations Officer or the Administrative Services Administrator.

     B.      There is established within the Department of Revenue Recovery the position of Director of Revenue Recovery. The Director of Revenue Recovery shall be the head of the Department of Revenue Recovery and in that capacity, subject to the control and direction of the Administrative Services Administrator, carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Department of Revenue Recovery, shall supervise and direct the work of the staff assigned to the Department, and shall serve as the County Financial Evaluation Officer pursuant to Chapter 15 (commencing with Section 27750) of Part 3 of Title 3 of the Government Code.

     C.      The Director of Revenue Recovery shall be appointed by the County Executive, subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors, and shall be subject to removal by the County Executive as provided in the Charter. (SCC 1606 § 6, 2017; SCC 1513 § 3, 2012.)
